The Disastrous Roadworks!

As a young Bahamian, I am fed up with the disastrous road works that is still undergoing. It is at great displeasure that this present government The FNM, claims that this is infrastructual uprgrades in The Bahamas, and road improvements.

Whereas, the government is wasting the tax payers money as what I see as, irrelevant work. The roads are being, jammed up rather than improved. The sidewalks are bigger than the roads. And they call this road improvement?

The islands, and concrete they put in the road, they say they want Nassau a 'First world class country' in comparison to the USA.

First of all the USA, doesn't have any concrete in the middle of the road. Their lanes is not jammed up, and the sidewalks are not bigger than the road. Thus they are broad. New Providence cannot be compared to the States because of its size. They are jamming up our roads as is, with these big sidewalks, and islands in or perimiting them.

I have no problem with the roads being fixed, but not done all at once, and not borrow MONEY for them to be fixed. It is not a neccessity as to the PEOPLE. The needs of the people should be before the infrastructural redevolopments.

Roads should be fixed, but in this tough economic times. We should be worrying about the values and needs of THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE. We should all be aware of that.

My point is: Why borrow money to fix the road, when there are many hurting people out there. Fix the roads when you can improve it.

Its that simple.
